Today we’re featuring Cristina and Miki’s regal wedding in the heart of Madrid. She was very excited about her wedding and in the end it was the wedding of her dreams. There is evidence of it in her pictures! Take a look.
Cristina, here is the post you’ve been waiting for. We hope you like and enjoy it!
The ceremony was held at the Santa Barbara Church, in the heart of Madrid, in a building dazzling with beauty, both inside and out. The large stately columns and long staircases at the entrance, all of these features made it unique.
Besides its beauty, it had special meaning to the bride, whose parents were married in the same church 37 years ago.
How did you find your Rosa Clará dress?
I knew I wanted a simple dress, but one that was also unique, that had a touch of originality and elegance. This model was perfect for the big day; the cathedral train suited the church. I took it off for the reception and it transformed into a nice evening dress.
I don’t like front necklines but I love back necklines, another reason why I chose this model. I tried on several dresses from different brands but this was the one that I had the strongest connection with.
Cristina chose the Badajoz model from the 2013 Rosa Clará collection
What about your accessories? (shoes, jewelry …)
Obviously, the engagement ring that Miki gave me when we got engaged (a solitaire square diamond and a white gold band). I love it!
I also wore white gold and diamond pearl earrings. They had a sophistication and simplicity I felt complemented the dress greatly.
The shoes were a pair of white satin and silver t-strap sandals from Pura Lopez. My husband is very tall and I as brave enough to wear a shoe with a 4 -inch heel! I put up with them all night …
The blushing bride wore a beautiful mantilla, also from Rosa Clara, which matched the dress perfectly. The mantilla was transparent allowing guests to see the back of the dress. She wore two silver accessories in her hair loaned by her godmother. Her simple bun was perfect as it showed off the jeweled collar of the dress.
What was the most emotional moment?
For me there were two unforgettable and touching moments, entering the church and walking down the aisle on my father’s arm towards Miki and our families who were very excited.
The second moment was at the end of dinner, during the toast when my husband made a lovely speech thanking his immediate family, mine, and both mothers, one by one, thanking all that we had done for him and showing what we mean to him.
I never forget this sentence, “Cris, baby, you’re what I’ve always dreamed of, every day is perfect because you are with me and I am sure my mother, who is watching from above, is happy knowing that I am in good hands “
He made people cry that I have never seen cry before! I’ve seen the video a hundred times and I cry every time, I married a really special and unique person.
To whom did you give the bouquet?
I gave the bouquet to Mary, my brother’s girlfriend, because I have a mad desire for them to get married and we can experience a beautiful moment such as Miki and I had. They didn’t expect that I’d give her the bouquet!
My brother is one of the most important people in my life and he deserved this as a sign of love and affection.
Any advice for future brides?
I don’t like to give advice… but enjoy the day because it goes by so quickly, it’s true !! Before you know it it’s already the next day.
You have to enjoy all the preparations and the day in general as much as possible.
Also make your dreams come true, I didn’t deprive myself of anything when I organized the wedding, I wanted it to be the wedding of my dreams, with all special touches and with my prince and it was. September 13, 2013 I enjoyed my fairy tale…
Do you remember any special or funny moment?
Every one of them! The day was perfect from start to finish. When we left the church we were surprised with cannons throwing petals on both sides as we walked down the steps, forming a cloud of red hearts around us.
The dance was another special moment, to the rhythm of “The Second Waltz”, when, a few seconds before starting, canons of fire started burning in the 4 corners of the dance floor, it was like we were in a dream as if we were dancing just him and me.
