Our bride Sandra phoned her friends to tell them that she fell in love with a wedding dress. Was that dress “the one”?
Sandra, our Rosa Clará bride, wore an original model with twenties touches. Do you want to know if she wore the gown that she fell in love when she was surfing the Internet? Don’t miss out the interview!
Where was the ceremony held?
In the Cathedral of Plasencia (Cáceres). Besides its beauty, that location was special to me because it was where my parents and most of my family married.
Where did you get ready for the big event?
I prepared for the big day in my old bedroom at my parent´s house. I could have done so at the hotel where the ceremony was held but I couldn’t pass up this monumental moment. Where the little girl who once lived there now prepared for her wedding. there. I couldn’t think of a more special setting. One of the advantages was my parents have a small house, and the biggest place is the dinning room so my mother, my sister and I had our makeup done together. It was a very funny morning with a lot of emotions and I’m happy we were able to experience them together.
How did you feel when you saw yourself in your dress the day of the wedding?
Perfect and I was myself. When I saw myself in the dress I knew I made the right choice choosing this model. I was so happy with the result: the hair, the make up, and the complements. I felt so sure about my decisions and knew I would enjoy the day.
How and where did you find your Rosa Clarà dress?
I have had an idea of what my wedding dress would look like since I was a young child. So when the 2014 collection was published on the web, and I saw the Cintia model I knew it was the one and I told all my friends and family.
What made you choose that model? Was it the dress you´ve always envisioned?
I tried on many gowns but when I saw Cintia I cried! It was my dress and so wonderfully made. I have always liked the styles represented during the medieval times and the roaring 20s. This dress incorporated several style features of both eras into a modern dress in a superb way. I also wanted a dress that accentuate my waistline and this was achieved in a fabulous way, Lastly, the fabric, an intricate back and the way the dress fell were all very essential—the detailed beadwork the model Cintia has was an added bonus.
What type of veil did you use? Where is it from?
I wore a medieval style veil, also from Rosa Clarà. I wanted to focus all the importance on the dress and hair. In the end I achieved the medieval style that I was looking to accomplish.
How about the complements you wore? (shoes, jewellery)
I wore Jimmy Choo sandals. They were a lovely gift I received from my bridesmaids. It was a Cinderella moment because I had always dreamed of owning a pair. Another special complement for me was a little gold watch gifted by my grandmother. She could not be in attendance that day but her present was a constant reminder of her.
As far as jewellery, I wore a pair of vintage earrings appropriated with the dress and my white gold and diamond engagement ring.
What type of flowers did the bouquet have? To whom did you give it?
The main flower was the peony combined with wildflowers. They were pink and complemented my bridesmaid’s bouquets. The result was perfect.
The bouquet was divided in two parts; one was for my grandmother in memory of my grandfather. He died a few years ago and the other one was put aside for my grandmother who could not attend. It was the most emotional moment of the day because they could not stay but I remembered them all that day.
Where was the banquet held?
The reception was held at The Balneary Hotel Valle de Jerte. A magical place situated in the jerte valley where we could enjoy an outdoor celebration.
Is there a special or fun moment you remember?
There were so many!!! When I went out I found my father´s surprise, a Classic Citroën model Tiburón it was perfect for the wedding. It took me to the cathedral. Later our friends Sebastián and Eduardo shared a monologue about us, it made everyone laugh. Our friend Jero wowed us with a few magic tricks. But the most beautiful moment was when my husband Martin dedicated a beautiful discourse to all the guests. It was spectacular and I felt every word he was saying. I get emotional every time I think about it.
Any advice for future brides?
Yes! Enjoy every moment and take a breather some moments to enjoy the unrepeatable day. Sometimes we are in everywhere and we are not conscious about all we are feeling. So remember, enjoy every moment because it goes by so fast.
Who was your photographer?
“Admirados Fotografías” was our photographer. After the wedding we went to Milán and our friend Maria from Magova Photo, who is also a photographer gifted us with a lovely photo shoot. It was important to me that Maria enjoyed our wedding day so we decided to go with Admirados Fotografías. And they did an amazing job.
